Remembering the last used filter would improve usability a lot. Default, the (All Issues) filter is applied. For workflow, practical would be to choose your own custom made filterd view: e.g. all not closed.
You can use the Dashboad to quickly open folders with a filter applied. In version 1.0 the Dashboard will be integrated with the Projects tree.
