Database Engine Configuration error

Hi Team,

I am trying to configure the Webissues 1.0.5 in Windows 7 Apache, PHP, MySQL latest version.

On the Database Engine Configuration page

I have input the following:

Select the type of the database to use: MySQL
Connection Details
Host name: localhost
Database name: webissues
User name: root
Password: password

I am getting the below error, when proceeding to next page.

"Could not connect to database. Please check connection details and try again."

Please help me to fix this error.

I could able to login to MySql with username as 'root' and password as 'password'
