Hi guys,
I'm using WebIssues on a Windows Server with MSSQL 2008R2. It seems that the Issue ID number increments by about 5 for each issue, not always 5, but it's the most common increment. Here is the list of the first few ID#

It looks odd in the view list with the numbers incremented this way. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but as a database developer I'm curious as to why this was designed this way:)

There is a note in this chapter of the documentation which explains that identifiers of issues are unique and increasing, but not necessarily in consecutive numerical order. The identifiers are also used by comments, attachments, attribute changes and other operations. It make it easier to track changes, synchronize them with the Desktop Client, etc. It's funny that it bugs a lot of people :).

Michał
Hi Michał
Ah, ok, makes sense:) I've been doing database development for about 20 years and just wondered why it was this way:)
