After successfully installing the stable 0.8.5 version, today I was trying to install the 1.0-alpha1 version. To my surprise, the only error I got was
Parameter 3 to mysqli_stmt_bind_param() expected to be a reference, value given
Switching from PHP 5.3.2 to 5.2.13 solved the problem.
This remains, in my opinion, an issue mistake although older version of PHP did not complained of the error.
