Sub Folders?

Submitted by Massoger on 2013-05-29

I've been using WebIssues for about a month now and it's fantastic. It's pretty darn close to exactly what I'm looking for while tracking punch list items and resolutions through to completion on a VERY large project.

Is there a way to create sub folders within the folder under each project? i.e. Main Project --> Project Folder --> Sub Folder --> Sub-Sub Folder.

The reason being, within the single project, there are 12 sites and each site has individual locations and I want to track issues by location within each site under the main project. My work around right now is to create a main project container for each site, then each project folder is the location.

The problem with this is that when running reports and getting alerts via email, all the issues are in separate emails by site, so I get 12 emails, each containing the actual issues. I'd like to get 1 email with each site and each issue grouped. If this isn't possible, I'd like to suggest it as a feature, although I recognize it may not be useful for the majority of your users, I bet someone in the software development field using this would find it helpful for minor version tracking.

Also would be nice to have a "read only" user. So the clients can view issue tracking statuses but not be able to modify, even though any mods would be recorded and undoable. That just adds a level of management that could be avoided by a read only user.

Thanks in advance for your answer and thanks again for your fantastic work on this tool!

Typically such subdivision could be done using attributes and views, but I understand that in your case it may not be a perfect solution.

Adding more user roles, including read only usrers, is already planned for one of the future versions.
